This site features drinking water purification systems, whole house and light industrial units, lamps, quartz sleeves, replacement filter cartridges and parts from Pura.
Ultraviolet is a safe, clean, easy-to-maintain method of assuring that water is free of bacteria. It is a proven technology that has no significant drawbacks. In some applications, its initial cost is a bit more than chlorination, but because of its low operating cost, it quickly pays for itself. It is environmentally friendly and essentially trouble-free.
Most ultraviolet water treatment systems require only an annual change of lamp—as simple as changing a light bulb—and a periodic change of filter cartridges if the unit has accompanying filters.
We believe that Pura UV units are the best available. Here's why.
Our Pura Ultraviolet Offerings
Each of the brief descriptions below links to a more detailed description.
Pura Add-On Units (UV002, UV003) are easily installed UV systems without any accompanying filtration. They are intended primarily for drinking water purification, but they lend themselves easily to any application where one to three gallons per minute of bacteria-free water is needed. Lamp power usage: 10 Watts
Pura Add-On 1
A one-gallon-per-minute unit. Lamp power usage: 10 watts.
Pura Add-On 3
A three-gallon-per-minute unit. Lamp power usage: 10 watts.
The Pura UV1-EPCB (UV001) is a single-canister undersink unit with Pura’s “extended pass” carbon block filter. It’s a drinking water filter with a one gallon per minute disinfection capacity. It is capable of serious chemical reduction as well as purification. The 0.5 micron carbon block filter is tight enough to assure cyst removal.
Pura UV1 (EPCB)
1 gallon per minute capacity. Lamp power usage: 10 watts. Single undersink unit with extended pass carbon block filter.
The Pura UVB Series (UV008, UV009, UV010) consists of single, double and triple undersink units with sediment and carbon filtration capable of two gallons per minute treatment.
Pura UVB-1 (EPCB)
2 gallon per minute capacity. Lamp power usage: 14 watts. Single undersink unit with 0.5 micron extended pass carbon block filter.
Pura UVB-2 (EPCB)
2 gallon per minute capacity. Lamp power usage: 14 watts. Double undersink unit with sediment filter and 0.5 micron extended pass carbon block.
Pura UVB-3 (EPCB)
2 gallon per minute capacity. Lamp power usage: 14 watts. Triple undersink unit with sediment filter, 0.5 micron extended pass carbon block, and granular carbon filter.
The Pura UV20 (UV004, UV005, UV006) series consists of single, double and triple whole house units with 8-10 gallons per minute capacity. These units will accommodate most single-family users.
8-10 gallon per minute capacity. Lamp power usage: 22 watts. Single whole-house. UV lamp only.
8-10 gallon per minute capacity. Lamp power usage: 22 watts. Double unit with UV lamp and sediment filter. (Available with carbon block rather than sediment upon request.)
8-10 gallon per minute capacity. Lamp power usage: 22 watts. Triple unit with UV lamp, sediment filter and carbon block filters.
The Pura UVBB, or Big Boy Series, consists of single, double and triple units that combine ultraviolet with sediment and carbon filtration for flow rates of up to 15 gallons per minute. There are three models to choose from. These units are larger than the UV 20 series above, and offer greater filtration capacity and support higher flow rates.
UV Lamp Only. Lamp power usage: 22 watts. Up to 15 gallons per minute flow rate.
UV with Sediment Filter. Lamp power usage: 22 watts. Up to 15 gallons per minute flow rate.
Sediment Filter, UV lamp, and carbon block filter. Lamp power usage: 22 watts. Up to 15 gallons per minute flow rate.
We offer all available parts, filter cartridges, components, replacement lamps and quartz sleeves for Pura systems. This page offers the most commonly ordered parts for current models, which we keep in stock for immediate shipment. If you need a part that isn’t listed, please call and we’ll do our best to get it for you.
For all units, you will need a replacement lamp annually.
For units with filters, you’ll need periodic — once a year, usually — cartridge replacements. We stock Pura original cartridges for most units and excellent equivalent-or-better alternative “after market” cartridges for others.
You will need a quartz sleeve only if you break one. We stock all sizes.
For some units there are optional “lamp out” protectors to shut off the flow of water in the event that the UV lamp fails or the power goes off. These optional features are built into new units at the factory and are best ordered at the time the unit is purchased. However, they can be added to existing units. We do not offer this option on this site, but we invite you to call about it.
